What’s on your mind?
In their book, One Moment Please — Time to Pay Attention, Martina Sheehan + Susan Pearse remind us about the gift that attention can be and how often we are distracted by phones, rushing to meetings, our own busy-ness.“Where does his or her mind go?” we chirrup at gorgeous babies, whose faces and thoughts seem to dream and imagine a life of growing and learning.
Ask yourself
Where does your mind go on first waking? Stressing on the everyday things to be done …or musing creatively on exactly how to step on into that project or progress that idea?
What do you tell yourself about how clever and capable you are of rising the challenges of the week?
What do you allow your mind to tell you about new risk-taking ideas?
You may have an audacious new beginning to take on…is your self-talk supportive, or fearful and wondering about just how courageous and capable you are?
Do you allow unsupportive thinking to stop you from taking action?
Our self talk can keep us circling over the same old issues and challenges, creating an unproductive, downward spiral. In my workshop, All in the mind and the moves, I unpack the secrets of moving on and out of that spiral. Who are you waiting for?
Low productivity or procrastination represent not backing ourselves and the actions that make a difference, but allowing fears self-doubt and negativity to excuse us from our best actions, our wildest dreams, our audacious imaginings.
